We are a family business composed of brothers Jim Kahmann and Paul J. Kahmann Jr., along with brother-in-law Mike J. Kegley, and his son, James Kegley. You will find yourself always working with one of the owners of the company. Mike assists you in the development and planning of your new home, while James researches various products and pricing. Mike’s wife Janet meets with you, assisting in the selections process. During construction Jim and Paul meet with you periodically, supervise your home start to finish, and direct our craftsmen to create a home of lasting value of which we both can be proud.

Then we can make suggestions that meet your lifestyle and budget from the 300+ homes we have previously Design/Built, or from a search of the over 10,000 plans on file from top designers all over the country. These results foster further discussions that will generate a final plan or ideas for your own specific custom design.

On Line Selection Approvals

BuildLinks is an online tool for B.O.L.D. Homes to communicate with our customers. It is accessed directly from the B.O.L.D. website and manages critical selection and change order information throughout the building process. BuildLinks makes it easy to keep homebuyers informed about the status of their homes and keep track of selections and pricing.

We have found that quality products are remembered and appreciated much longer than the few cents saved on a product that may not perform as well. We have learned through years of experience that the least expensive product is not always the best. Selection, service, customer satisfaction and a supplier's commitment to his customers weigh heavily in our selections. For these reasons we use a wide variety of tested and proven Name Brand Products.

Built the B.O.L.D. Way

Each new home must meet the Building Codes. These are specific minimum requirements for safety and design in new home construction. B.O.L.D. performs above and beyond these minimum standards to create a home you are satisfied with for years to come and that achieves its maximum investment potential.

Energy Star

Each B.O.L.D. Home is Energy Star qualified by an independent third party rater. Homes must be at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. These savings are based on heating, cooling and hot water energy use and on improvements in:

    building envelope improvements
    high performance windows & doors
    controlled air infiltration
    high efficiency heating and air conditioner systems
    tight duct systems and
    high efficiency water heating equipment

These features contribute to improved homeowner comfort and lower utility bills. The lower energy demand reduces air pollution and saves the earth's resources.
